Pleasure Beach plans Mack rollercoaster for 2018

Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Blackpool Pleasure Beach will open a launched rollercoaster from German manufacturers Mack Rides in 2018, Ride Rater understands.

Its custom layout includes two launched sections and will feature three track inversions in the form of an inclined loop, zero-g roll and a twisted immelmann.

It will closely interact with the park’s densely-packed rides, extending across the former Tom Sawyer lake and Steeplechase rollercoaster, passing through the Big One ride’s lift hill supports.

The new ride – which has been delayed by one year compared with original plans – was dubbed ‘Project 2017’ in limited marketing material seen at the park last year.

Although the Pleasure Beach has yet to comment on the nature of its 2018 addition, construction is expected to begin later this season.

In an interview last year, deputy managing director Nick Thompson said that the project would “hopefully be one of the most exciting rides in the world”, adding that it would take 18 months to build.

I paid 9 pound as a non rider at Gulliver’s world. Wish people would stop complaining about the 6 quid entrance.
Maybe make it a fiver; that might work better for the PB.

It’s in but I believe it will see the removal of a few rides to make space for it including the Grand Prix

    High prices lol

Alton is over 50quid for 2 thrill coasters and a bunch of limp lesser rides (air Rita ect)

Bpb is 25quid for quality long standing rides that lat longer than 20 secondso.

  4. It’s more of a theme park now than a pleasure beach with entrance fees and high ticket prices but if it means bigger and better rides in the future then it can’t be all bad?!

      Which park are you visiting?

Pleasure Beach is one of the cheapest parks in the UK and they have frozen their prices for the past few years now whilst every other park has gone up… In fact the day prices are now even cheaper than they were about 4 or 5 years ago as they bought their ticket prices down.

Adult gate price is £30… About 4 years ago it use to be £35! Pleasure Beach is one of the cheapest parks in the UK

Get rid of park addmission n u wud get more people in, its bit expensive wen family’s got pay to get in Tha just walk about the park.

Barry – They charge admission for a good reason. Before there was a charge they used to get drunks; pickpockets and other undesirables in. The charge keeps people like that out, making it safer for everyone else.

Yep, it’s so safe that not many want to go there! We can’t afford to go and spend a day there with our family with the prices!

For those who think their ticket prices are expensive just come to the US and your parks seem cheap. Disney would be around 105 euros per ticket. And there are tons of parks over here in the US that have never got any good new rides since it’s original opening day.
