Thorpe Park delays Ghost Train opening date

Thorpe Park has announced that the opening of its new ride – Derren Brown’s Ghost Train – will be delayed.

Originally scheduled to open on 6 May, the indoor attraction will now open at a later date, which has not yet been announced.

Preview events for annual pass holders planned for 4 and 5 May have also been cancelled, although it is not clear if they will be rescheduled.

Thorpe Park said the decision was made to move the ride’s opening date “after careful consideration”.

A statement on Facebook read: “This attraction is a completely new invention and we are making final tweaks to the remaining elements to get things absolutely perfect.

“We want you guys to have the full mind-blowing experience from the very first time you ride,” it added.

The park has encouraged guests with pre-booked tickets to make contact with guest services, who will revalidate tickets for visiting at a later date, it is understood.
