Alton Towers will increase its on-the-day admission price by 2.5% next season to £48, it has been confirmed.
The £1.20 price on 2013’s end-of-season prices was reported by Scottish coach operators Kinghouse Travel.
The walk-up admission price is the fire against which 2 for 1 and 50%-off promotional vouchers are based, with online sales being discounted separately.
The theme park will end the 2014 season with its traditional three-day fireworks events, which run from 7 to 9 November.
The main season begins on 22 March next year, with the Halloween Scarefest event being held between 18 October and 2 November.
Admission prices are widely expected to rise during the 2014 season, but remain marginally below the psychological £50 barrier until 2015.
