Thorpe Park attracted an additional 50,000 guests in 2011, taking its attendance for the year up to 1.9 million.
The 2.7% rise came following the installation of the Storm Surge spinning rapids ride, which was relocated from the United States.
This year, the installation of the £20 million Swarm rollercoaster could take attendance above the two-million mark for the first time in the park’s history.
The figures were published by the Themed Entertainment Association, who also revealed that Legoland Windsor had remained static on last year with 1.9 million visitors through its gates.
