Pleasurewood Hills names drop tower Jolly Roger

Pleasurewood Hills will name their new drop tower ride The Jolly Roger when it opens at the start of this season.

Planning permission for a 60 metre (197 feet) Moser Gravity Tower was approved by the local council last summer.

However, the park has revealed that the tower that planning permisiion was obtained for is not currently available.

They will instead install a 40 metre travelling variant with a view to installing the originally-planned ride before the planning permission expires in 2014.

The ride will form part of a multi-million pound investment by new park owners HIG Capital France, who took over last year.

The park’s 2012 season commences on 2 April and admission prices this year have increased 50p to £18.
