The temporary flat rides known as the Retro Squad are to leave Alton Towers at the end of this season.
Announcing the news on social media on Wednesday, Alton Towers framed the departure as ‘mission near completion’.
They will leave the theme park after its final day of the 2023 season, which is 5 November.
No new flat rides are being brought in for 2024, as Alton Towers prepares to re-open the Nemesis rollercoaster after a year-long rebuild.
In a line-up that has been rotated, the Retro Squad travelling rides were hired in during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Alton Towers operated with visitor capacity restrictions to accommodate social distancing guidelines, with the rides serving as mitigation.
The current line-up up Twistatron, Spinjam, and Funk’nFly will end its run during Alton Towers’ fireworks weekend.
