Photographer of the Year 2022: Neil Tonge

Neil Tonge, RideRater Photographer of the Year 2022

Neil Tonge is RideRater’s Photographer of the Year 2022, with his innovative capture of Icon and the Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

Neil, of Cheshire, undoubtedly showed great patience to achieve the superb timing which saw him capture the two rollercoasters in Icon’s reflective artwork.

He enters our Hall of Fame as this year’s winner, alongside the other individuals to have won since the competition’s founding in 2013.

As always, we’d like to thank everyone that entered photographs in the competition, with the standard being as high as ever.

Alton Towers’ Nemesis rollercoaster, operating for the final season before being rebuilt, was a heavy presence among this year’s entries.

Below is a run-down of the Top 10 – expanded this year due to the exceptional quality received – complete with the full uncropped images.
