Thorpe Park has announced that it is unable to confirm a reopening of the Hyperia rollercoaster before 8 June.
A significant technical issue has seen the ride closed since Saturday, the day after its public debut.
Personnel from German manufacturers Mack Rides are on site “working diligently to investigate,” Thorpe Park said.
“Despite our best efforts, we are unable to commit to reopening Hyperia before Saturday 8 June,” the park said yesterday.
Engineering personnel have been seen examining the ride’s lift hill, which has been speculated as being behind the closure.

Thorpe Park itself has not revealed any technical details around the ride’s closure.
“We will continue to do everything in our power to open the ride earlier,” it added.
Initially, the ride was announced as remaining closed throughout 25 May, before that period was extended to 29 May.
The ride is not certain to open from 8 June, with further extensions of the closure a possibility.
At 236 feet, Hyperia is the United Kingdom’s tallest rollercoaster.
Its currently unconfirmed top speed of 81 mph would also be the UK’s fastest.
The ride had been carrying staff for some weeks prior to its 24 May opening, with a press preview event also held the night before.
Rescheduling visits
Thorpe Park is allowing anyone with booked tickets up to 7 June to reschedule to another date.
For those who visited on 25 May, the park has offered guests a free return visit.
The Surrey attraction is advising those intending to book for 8 June or later, to check for updates regarding Hyperia’s availability.
Annual pass holders have been advised to use the online booking system – or Passholder Hub – to move dates of visits as appropriate.
In response to guest queries, Thorpe Park has suggested that Hyperia’s closure is to facilitate “optimum capacity and performance” of the ride.
