Blackpool Pleasure Beach is planning a new ride for 2017, described as a “huge project” by the park’s deputy managing director Nick Thompson.
In an interview with the Blooloop website’s BlooTalk podcast last month, he said that construction would be starting this year.
Thompson added that it will “hopefully be one of the most exciting rides in the world”, adding that it would take 18 months to build.
The claims contradict statements made by Pleasure Beach managing director Amanda Thompson earlier this year, when she said that a “big new project” was planned for 2018.
The new ride’s location has not been confirmed, but it is expected to at least partially traverse the Tom Sawyer lake and bridge area, following surveyors being sighted in the region earlier this year.
