Illusionist Derren Brown’s involvement with Thorpe Park over a new ride has been a three-year collaboration, he says.
The 44-year-old told the Daily Express newspaper that he was also given a relatively free remit with regards to what the project would be like.
“I’ve been working on the idea with the Thorpe Park people for three years, which even for me is a long time to keep a secret,” he said.
“The whole concept is just huge, and has been the most delightful thing. The only remit from the park is to give people a fun and amazing experience, and I’ve had carte blanche to do what I liked.”
He added that it was the park’s “biggest investment to date”.
The enclosed attraction, which is expected to open in March 2016, has a reported construction budget of £20 million.
