Blackpool Pleasure Beach returns to profit

Blackpool Pleasure BeachBlackpool Pleasure Beach has returned to profit following a number of years of loss-making, accounts show.

The Lancashire amusement park recorded a £364,000 profit in the year ending 22 March 2015.

The same period ending last year saw losses of £1.9 million, with a £2.5 million deficit recorded previously, in the year to March 2013.

Parent company Blackpool Pleasure Beach (Holdings), which includes the park’s hotels and financial services, this year recorded a profit of £1.4 million, compared with a near £400,000 loss in the previous year.

The park has begun a marketing campaign for a major new attraction which will launch in 2017, and follows recent investments in Wallace & Gromit and Royal Air Force Red Arrows-theme rides.
