Thorpe Park has “questioned the wisdom” of proposals to build a new residential area close to the Surrey theme park.
Plans for 68 new houses have been presented to the residents of Chertsey towards the end of last month.
A spokesman for Thorpe Park was today quoted in Get Surrey as saying: “In principle we do question the wisdom of any residential development so close to a theme park.
“We are very aware of our responsibilities to the local community, and work hard to minimise the impact our business may have on the local area with regard to traffic and noise.
“This scheme however would mean people living very much closer to the park than any of our existing neighbours; resulting potentially in inconvenience for them, and unreasonable restrictions being placed on us in terms of future operations and activity.”
