Blackpool Pleasure Beach is to celebrate the 90th anniversary of one its most famous rides this summer.
The wooden Big Dipper rollercoaster will reach the milestone on 23 August this year, when the park will host a special evening in its honour.
“An area of the park will be open once the rest of the attraction closes where thrill-seekers can enjoy unlimited rides on the Big Dipper, Infusion, the Grand Prix and Wallace & Gromit’s Thrill-O-Matic,” the park said.
It also invites guests to “take a look at the history of the famous roller coaster while enjoying the fantastic party atmosphere and food.”
Entry to the event is £10 for the birthday party and food package, and £18 when inclusive of ride access – which will be available until 11pm.
The Big Dipper built by American rollercoaster designer John Miller in 1923 and has since become one of the most famous rides in Britain.
