Former Scottish theme park Loudoun Castle is to be transformed into a £300 million golf resort, developers hope.
The Scotsman newspaper reported that a whiskey distillery, homes and a food and drink centre of excellence would also be constructed on the 600-acre site.
The theme park closed in 2010, with many of its rides relocating to Lightwater Valley and other theme parks in Europe.
If a planning application is successful, a five-star hotel would be the result of a transformation of the nineteenth century Loudoun Castle building itself.
