Alton Towers has said that its new ride The Smiler will be open from May this year, two months after originally advertised.
Initially planned to open on 16 March when the park’s main season begins, the park has issued a press release stating otherwise.
“The Smiler will be our biggest and most thrilling attraction the resort has ever seen and we can’t wait for guests to join us in May and experience it for themselves,” said spokeswoman Katherine Duckworth.
The £18 million project will be Alton Towers’ biggest ride investment to date, topping the £15 million spent on the Thirteen rollercoaster in 2010.
