Thorpe Park has confirmed that its newly-themed Big Easy Boulevard area will retain the existing 4D cinema, under the new name of Sunset Cinema.
Replacing the former Angry Birds land for the 2024 season, the Big Easy Boulevard is loosely themed to the US city New Orleans.
The Angry Birds 4D is being been repurposed to make way for the Sunset Cinema.
Posting on X on Saturday, Thorpe Park said the ‘movie’ being played would be revealed later.
“Absorb yourself in the sensory 4D delights of Sunset Cinema,” the Surrey theme park encouraged guests.
“Prepare to be transported into a captivating world of sights, sounds and surprises with our new blockbuster.”
New season
Big Easy Boulevard will open along with the rest of Thorpe Park when its season begins on 23 March.
Thorpe Park also released concept artwork on X, suggestive of a classic American cinema frontage.
The park’s dodgems have also been re-themed to ‘Big Easy Bumpers’.
Thorpe Park’s 2024 opening has been brought forward one day following delays with the new Hyperia rollercoaster’s construction.
The rollercoaster, which will be the UK’s tallest, was originally expected to open on 24 March.
Thorpe Park has not yet officially confirmed the ride’s exact opening date, stating simply ‘Spring 2024’.
