Oakwood theme park’s Megafobia rollercoaster is to receive track work from the Gravity Group this year.
The 1996-built wooden ride will have its first and second drops worked on as part of the work.
The first drop will be made steeper as part of the US$2 million programme, Oakwood said in a blog post published on Friday.
“This exciting project will see work carried out on approximately 40% of the coaster,” the Welsh park said.
“[The work] will see Gravity Group’s award winning Vertical Engineered Track installed in both locations.
“Both drops will also be reprofiled, with the first drop being made steeper as part of this ambitious project.”
The work – which is planned to be completed by May – will also include conventional like-for-like track replacement, which is typical for an aged wooden ride.
