Blackpool Pleasure Beach has said that 2025 will be “transformation period”, as it announced several rides will be closed this season.
The Eddie Stobart Convoy, Alpine Rallye, Thompson Carousel, Gallopers, and Red Arrows Skyforce will not operate this year.
The Lancashire amusement park has been monitoring ride usage in recent years via the scanning of park tickets at the entrance to every ride.
In a statement released on Thursday, the Pleasure Beach said: “Our rider data showed that they have some of the lowest throughput.”
“After a great deal of thought it was clear to us that the right decision is to make changes which will allow us to invest in a bigger and better future,” it added.
Meanwhile, the Grand National rollercoaster’s 90th anniversary will be celebrated after a period of the ride’s closure during the first part of this season.
The Ice Blast shot tower ride will open as the space-themed Launch Pad this season.
The River Caves dark water ride remains closed for refurbishment, but the Pleasure Beach said that it would be announcing the ride’s future “very soon”.
Later this year, the Wallace & Gromit Thrill-O-Matic dark ride is expected to have new scenes based on the Vengeance Most Fowl film.
This has not yet been confirmed by Blackpool Pleasure Beach, but the park advised guests to “stay tuned” in its latest update.
