Fantasy Island: Free Odyssey rides for jubilee

Odyssey, Fantasy Island

Fantasy Island will offer free rides on its Odyssey rollercoaster on 2 June to celebrate the Queen’s platinum jubilee.

The Vekoma-built ride originally opened in 2002 as Jubilee Odyssey to commemorate Elizabeth II’s golden jubilee.

On Friday, Fantasy Island announced that the Suspended Looping Coaster would have free rides available all day to celebrate 70 years of the Queen’s reign.

It usually costs £5 per ride when accessed outside of the Lincolnshire amusement park’s wristband system.

With a reported construction cost of £28 million, the 167-foot tall Odyssey remains the most expensive rollercoaster ever built in the United Kingdom.
