The government Examining Authority (ExA) has asked for regular updates on the repeatedly-delayed London Resort project.
In a letter from the Planning Inspectorate published on Friday, the ExA said that it was now unlikely to begin its assessment of the proposals before summer 2022.
It cited delays with the proposed London Resort theme park, and acknowledged concerns raised by local councils earlier this week.
The ExA said that it would be asking for Resort planners to submit progress updates every four weeks to minimise the impact of any further delays.
Th authority also asked planners to advise by 24 November on the likely implications of Natural England’s decision on the designation or otherwise of the Swanscombe Peninsula Site of Special Scientific Interest.
The London Resort concept was first announced in 2012, but it has been subjected to repeated delays and changes in its leadership team.
