Fantasy Island operators Mellors have announced that they will be bringing their Ice Mountain rollercoaster concept to the park this year.
The enclosed spinning mouse-style ride has featured at the Winter Wonderland fair in Hyde Park, London in recent years.
It will open with Fantasy Island’s main season on 23 March this year, but the duration of its stay has not been confirmed.
The Mellors Group purchased Fantasy Island in 2016, and has subsequently added travelling rides to the park on a one-season basis.
Ice Mountain’s enclosed structure, which is typically set up with a number of effects in darkness, will be built around the former Fantasy Mouse rollercoaster.
Fantasy Island described the ride as taking riders on a “trip through the Arctic circle” and a “world of polar bears, penguins and an illuminated cavern”.
