Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s variable parking charge for its main car park hit £18 this weekend, which is understood to be a new record.
The amusement park’s parking charges are adjusted throughout the season, with August typically seeing the highest fee for the all-day parking offered.
The news comes after Thorpe Park increased its parking charge to £8, with an increased fee of £10 for paying on the exit barriers.
Standard car parking at major theme parks in the US state of Florida is generally around $20 (£15.38), while a number of smaller UK theme parks retain free parking.
The Pleasure Beach differs from the majority of other British theme and amusement parks in that street parking in the vicinity is generally not restricted.
