Five-star rating for Alton Towers restaurant

Woodcutters Bar & GrillThe Woodcutter Bar & Restaurant at Alton Towers has been awarded a five-star rating by the Food Standards Agency (FSA).

The 23 April inspection of the eatery – located at the entrance of the Dark Forest area of the theme park – voted it “very good” on the food hygiene scale.

The restaurant was known as Rita’s Chicken & Ribs until the area was re-themed into the Dark Forest in 2010.

The FSA identified issues with hot water flow to two kitchen basins, which did not provide a “suitably sufficient method of hand washing”.

Corrective action was ordered to take place within two weeks. It is expected that the work has now been completed.

Alton Towers fared generally well in the FSA inspections, with the majority of outlets scoring five stars and two scoring a “good” rating of four stars.
