Nemesis named UK number one in Hawker poll

Nemesis at Alton Towers is the highest-placed British steel rollercoaster in the results of the acclaimed Mitch Hawker poll.

The results were revealed today, and ranked Bizarro at Six Flags New England as the world’s number one steel rollercoaster for the seventh time.

Constructed by Bolliger & Mabillard at a cost of £10 million in 1994, Nemesis was ranked at number five in the world.

It is also the highest ranking rollercoaster to feature track inversions, with the four rides above it all being Intamin made non-inverters.

The results were given from the votes of the 440 enthusiasts from around the world who entered this year’s poll.
