10 November season end for Alton Towers

2013 Alton Towers logoAlton Towers is to operate its theme park season for a week longer than originally advertised this year.

The traditional firework finale weekend will take place between 8 and 10 November, with the Halloween Scarefest event running between 19 October and 3 November.

Opening hours have not yet been revealed, but the Scarefest and fireworks days typically run between 10am and 9pm.

The weekdays of 4 to 7 November are expected to feature a discounted admission price with hours of opening being 10am to 4pm.

The lengthening of the season comes after the confirmation of delays with construction of the park’s new rollercoaster The Smiler.

Alton Towers today said that it looked forward to welcoming people to experience the ride “in May”, but that preview events could be taking place by April.

The ride was originally advertised as opening at the commencement of the park’s main season on 16 March.
