Fantasy Island planning all-night dance festival

Fantasy Island is to host an all-night festival of hardcore dance music on 19 May this year.

The event will feature an outdoor stage for the first four hours of the event between 7pm and 11pm and the park’s rides will also be in operation.

However, the ‘Return to Fantasy Island’ event – which will run until 5am within the park – is facing opposition from local residents concerned over noise and light levels.

Chairman of the Ingoldmells and Addlethorpe Residents’ Forum, Maurice Darnell told the East Coast Target newspaper: “It’s not going to do the village much good, obviously people won’t be staying in accommodation and it’s going to cause a lot of hostility because we have problems with noise now.

“We actually have noise pollution officers from East Lindsey District Council attending the next forum meeting which will be an ideal opportunity for anyone with concerns to have their say.

“There’s got to be quite a lot of disturbance and I don’t feel the village itself is going to benefit from it.”

Fantasy Island has said it expects around 2,500 people to attend, which it likens to a similar number of guests that the park attracts on busy summer weekend.

Tickets are priced from £25 and the event is 18+ entry.
