Paultons Park will open its first inverting rollercoaster as part of a new Viking-themed area in 2026.
Named Drakon, the ride will be a Euro-Fighter model from German manufacturers Gerstlauer.
As is customary with that model, the rollercoaster will feature a beyond-vertical drop.
Its track will be interlinked with Paultons’ existing Gerstlauer Bobsled rollercoaster, which will reopen under the Raven name.
The new themed area will be called Valgard, Paultons Park announced on Saturday.
Valgard will also feature a 12-metre high Wild Swing flat ride from Art Engineering.
The new area will be located next to the Lost Kingdom area of Paultons Park.
The Hampshire theme park has made considerable investments in its themed offerings in recent years, with further additions for 2027 also hinted at on Saturday.
A promotional video suggests that a water-based ride or attraction could be planned.
The announcement for 2026’s rides follow earlier market research on possible thrill rides in a 2022 customer survey.
