Dark Forest, Alton Towers

Alton Towers has rebranded the Woodcutters restaurant to the Oak in Chains bar & grill for the 2025 season.

Located just before the entrance to the Dark Forest area, the Oak in Chains serves a range of food and drink.

In a considerable shift from the Woodcutters offering, some items on the menu combine both sweet and savoury components within the same item.

These include sweet donuts used in the place of burger buns in some hamburgers.

Tear and share-style flatbreads are offered from the ‘Bakers of the Dark Forest’ selection of the menu.

Like the majority of catering outlets at Alton Towers, the restaurant is operated by the Aramark contractors.

Fixed tablets have also replaced former scanned QR code-style mobile ordering.

We take a look at the Oak in Chain’s prices and menu in effect on the park’s 2025 opening day, 15 March.

All prices and offerings are subject to change. Check with Alton Towers for updates.
