Tickets for Alton Towers’ opening day on 16 March have been taken off sale, with capacity expected to have been reached.
Earlier this week, dynamic pricing had seen admission tickets for 2024 season-opener rose to £53 and later £59 by Wednesday.
The return of the Nemesis rollercoaster after a 16-month rebuild has drawn considerable interest.
The opening date is also the first of three ‘Alton After Dark‘ Saturdays in March, which will see the Staffordshire theme park open until 8 pm.
Earlier on Friday, the X profile of the Merlin Annual Pass was inviting pass-holders to book for subsequent Saturdays.
“The 16th is booking up fast so we don’t want to point people there to only find out it’s fully booked,” the account also posted.
Alton Towers last sold out its opening day in March 2022, but it is generally rare away from the Halloween Scarefest and fireworks events.
The park’s capacity is typically 28,000 guests, but it is not clear if this many tickets have been released for 16 March.
