A study by the RAC has confirmed that the majority of major UK theme parks still do not provide charging facilities for electric vehicles (EVs).
Only around 20% of major parks – including Thorpe Park, Chessington World of Adventures, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Crealy, and M&Ds – provide EV chargers.
The study said that an average of only four charges per theme park were available.
Legoland Windsor and Alton Towers operator Merlin Entertainments says it will installing chargers there before the end of the year.
RAC spokesman Rod Dennis said: “Some leading theme parks in other parts of Europe are currently putting the UK in the shade when it comes to more extensive electric charging infrastructure.
“As they’ve decided it’s right to put chargers for their visitors in place, we now need all major theme park operators in the UK to come to the same conclusion.”
