Alton Towers has begun initial marketing ahead of the reopening of the revamped Duel dark ride.
Formerly the Haunted House between 1992 and 2002, the enclosed ride will be re-launched under a new name in March.
On Monday, journalists posted pictures and video footage of wind-up music boxes which feature doll heads popping out after a handle is wound and music plays.
The ride is expected to open along with the rest of Alton Towers when the park begins its main season on 18 March.
Its name has not yet been revealed, although journalist Richard Ault signed off his Twitter post sharing the video footage with a ‘The Curse’ hashtag.
Original ride concept designer John Wardley has been working on the refurbishment of Duel alongside Merlin Entertainments’ creative lead John Burton.
Ault shared an additional photograph revealing an accompanying gift tag reading “the countdown has begun”.
The Nemesis Sub-Terra dark ride is also widely expected to reopen this season as Alton Towers looks to mitigate the effects of the season-long closure of the Nemesis rollercoaster.
