Mandrill Mayhem: Chessington rollercoaster named

Mandrill Mayhem, Chessington World of Adventures

Chessington World of Adventures has seemingly revealed that its new shuttle-launched rollercoaster will be called Mandrill Mayhem.

The Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M)-manufactured ride – which will be a wing coaster – is expected to open in mid-March next year.

A trademark application with the UK’s Intellectual Property Office (IPO) revealed the ride’s name and logo.

Other applications to the IPO suggest that the two other rides in the new World of Jumanji area will be called Ostrich Stampede and Mamba Strike.

Mandrill Mayhem will have a 1.4-metre height restriction for guests, while the other rides in the new area are expected to be aimed at smaller children and families.

It will be the first shuttle-launch rollercoaster from Swiss manufacturers B&M, as well as one of their smallest rides built.
