Thorpe Park planning new rollercoaster

Thorpe Park

Thorpe Park will begin a public consultation into proposals for a major new rollercoaster next week.

On 10 December, a dedicated website will open for public review of what would be the first rollercoaster installation at the park since the Swarm in 2012.

The Surrey theme park, operated by Merlin Entertainments has confirmed that the project is in the planning phase and cannot reveal further details until next week.

Once unveiled, the ride’s proposed construction schedule could see the ride open at the start of the 2024 season.

Thorpe Park has distributed leaflets to local residents inviting them to an in-person consultation meeting on 9 December, a day before the consultation website goes live.

The leaflet confirms that the Old Town area of the park would be cleared under the proposals and would be the site of the new ride.

The site of the former Loggers Leap water ride is also widely expected to be utilised in the construction of the new rollercoaster.
