This year’s Hyde Park Winter Wonderland event has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic, organisers have announced.
Last month, Royal Parks told RideRater that they were planning for the event to go ahead with changes if necessary.
Today’s announcement said that the decision had been taken after attempts to devise ways to operate the annual event with social distancing failed.
“It is with a heavy heart we share that Hyde Park Winter Wonderland will not be taking place this year,” a statement read.
“Considering the size and scale of this event, we just couldn’t find a way to do that without compromising the magical attractions, shows, rides, bars and experiences that make Hyde Park Winter Wonderland so special.”
The event, which runs from late November to early January, is planned to return in 2021, organisers added.
