Alton Towers has extended the duration of its Oktoberfest-themed event this autumn, with 8:30pm weekend park closes also confirmed.
Originally scheduled to take place on weekends including Fridays from 18 September, the event will now span 24 continuous days beginning on 11 September.
On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the park has confirmed that its rides will close at 8:30pm. The event runs until 4 October.
On other weekday openings, ride close is listed as being 6pm. It is not yet known if all rides will remain open until late each evening.
Describing the event at its February launch, Alton Towers said its version of Oktoberfest had been “designed to bring together families and friends”.
The extension of the event’s duration is seen as a commercial response to the park’s earlier shutdown this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.
The original Oktoberfest in Germany is famous for its traditional beer and food outlets, along with entertainment tents and fairground rides.
Access to Alton Towers’ event will be included in the admission price for the theme park on that day. Season and Annual passes will also be accepted for entry.
