Merlin Entertainments sold 70,000 of its annual passes during its recent New Year sale, it has emerged.
The figure is up from the 45,000 sold during the company’s similar sale held last year, and were reported in a shareholder presentation yesterday.
“Strong interest” was also said to be present in the forthcoming launch of a ‘VIP’ annual pass.
The company will also trial a “next generation” ticketing system at Thorpe Park in 2014, although no details were mentioned.
