Two teenage boys have been injured in an accident involving a ride at Billy Bates & Sons Funfair in Leicester.
A message posted on the fair’s Facebook page read: “We are very saddened to report to you that there was an accident at around 6.30pm tonight at our fair on Abbey Park.
“The ride involved in the incident is called Mega Bounce (frog ride).
“Two boys aged approximately 16 years were injured and taken to the Royal Infirmary. A full investigation has begun and the fair will remain closed until further notice.
“We are awaiting further information on the condition of the injured boys and we will inform you as soon as we know anything. Our thoughts are with the boys and their families at this time.”
Mega Bounce flat rides use compressed air to repeatedly bounce ride carriages attached to arms up and down.
They are commonplace at fairs and small theme parks in the UK.
