Legoland Windsor planning ‘duelling coaster’

Legoland Windsor

Legoland Windsor has submitted a planning query for a “duelling” junior shuttle-style rollercoaster.

In a certificate of lawfulness request to the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) planning department, a twin-track boomerang style ride is depicted.

Drawings suggest that while the track will be a maximum of about 30 feet (9.3 metres) above ground, the initial drop in height could be about 58 feet (17.7 metres) given the ground elevation at the propose site.

Track is depicted as depicted as slightly rising as it emerges from the ride station, before dropping again into an initial banked turn.

The ride’s manufacturer is not yet clear, although the track design in the planning documents is suggestive of German manufacturer Zierer.

The rollercoaster’s intended construction timeframe has not been communicated.
