A fundraising campaign has been launched for a woman critically injured on a fairground ride at the Fudstock festival in Barrow.
Now named as Chloe Austin, the 20-year-old victim was transferred to intensive care in Preston, where she remains in a condition previously reported as “serious but stable”.
A JustGiving Page has been set up to raise funds for Ms Austin’s family, who are spending time at her hospital bedside.
On 17 October, staff from LRM Security and the organisers of Fudstock are collectively hiking the Scafell Pike mountain to raise funds for Ms Austin and her family.
Barrow-upon-Furness’s Cavendish Park was the scene of the incident, which is understood to have involved a Twist-style ride, also known as a ‘Sizzler’.
The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) have begun an investigation into the 28 August accident.
