Arranging group events is set to become easier when Merlin Entertainments launch a new online booking system for their theme parks in the south of England next month.
Organisers for events such as conferences, teambuilding days or large family days out will be able to use the new ‘Event Wizard’, which will launch initially on the Thorpe Park website on 5 September.
It will enable group leaders to customise their events, adding required extras etc, and receive instant quotes for overall costs.
Although at first it is being trialled on the Thorpe Park website only, the wizard can also be used to arrange events at Chessington World of Adventures and Legoland Windsor.
Merlin’s Nicky Upton said: “Event Wizard was created in response to organisers’ needs after a survey was undertaken by us in December 2010.
“70% of organisers who took part in the survey prefer tailored packages which they can add extras to. With this in mind we went about devising a solution in the form of a wizard.”
