It has been another great year for entries in our annual Photographer of the Year competition.
Only one person however can enter our Hall of Fame, and our panel has decided the winner as well as the entries who came the closest.
Here we count down the our Top 5, culminating with our winner – RideRater’s Photographer of the Year 2020.
5th Place: James Culver
James’ black and white capture of Thorpe Park’s Stealth was a great and arty entry in this year’s competition.

4th Place: Jack Rhys Edwards
Jack showed great timing here with a snap of Wicker Man at Alton Towers, with both flames and the train in view.

3rd Place: Christopher Byrne
Christopher superbly caught the beaming sun behind Wipeout at Pleasurewood Hills.

2nd Place: Joel North
Joel is our official runner-up, with his excellent slow exposure capture of Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s Big One rollercoaster as it soars through the night.

1st Place: Craig Toy
Our winner is Craig Toy, who submitted this image of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, which not only captures two of the park’s signature rides, but also the masked and socially-distanced riders which might just become synonymous with the 2020 theme park season as a whole. Congratulations Craig!
