COVID-19: Blackpool Pleasure Beach in ‘Tier 3’

Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Lancashire has been placed in the government’s ‘very high’ level of COVID-19 restrictions, affecting Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

The baseline guidance for the government’s so-called Tier 3 restrictions discourages people from travelling to or from the the affected area for non-essential reasons.

There is no legal requirement preventing such travel, however.

Tourist attractions such as the Pleasure Beach will not be told to close as part of the deal negotiated between the council and central government.

The amusement park said that is is “COVID secure” and was “continuing to welcome guests safely”.

Earlier this year, the attraction announced that it would be extending its operating season into December following the earlier closures related to COVID-19.

The Pleasure Beach employs around 1,000 seasonal staff each operating season.
