Theme parks and face masks: New laws on way

Face mask

New laws regarding face coverings affecting theme parks will come into effect in England from Saturday.

From 8 August, people in all indoor areas at tourist attractions will be required to wear face coverings in response to COVID-19.

Face coverings will also be required in toilets and public areas of hotels, as well as a number of other areas not affecting theme parks.

Until now, it had only been a legal requirement for masks and other coverings to be worn on public transport and in shops.

It is widely believed that the wearing of face coverings provides more protection against an individual spreading the coronavirus than it does protect them from becoming infected.
