Picsolve: Photo provider enters administration

Nemesis, Alton Towers

Picsolve, the company behind many of the on-ride souvenir photographs at UK theme parks has entered administration amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.

The company provides services to Merlin Entertainments in the UK, including its theme parks Alton Towers, Thorpe Park and Chessington World of Adventures.

Picsolve employs around 160 full-time staff and usually several hundred seasonal workers.

The company’s income has effectively been cut off following the closure of attractions due to the coronavirus crisis.

Appointed administrator Matt Cowlishaw said: “The mandated closure of virtually all the leisure attractions the company operates from gave rise to an unprecedented situation for the company and significant cash pressure.

“We are actively seeking a buyer for all or parts of the business to allow it to continue and eventually reopen as theme parks and leisure attractions come back online.”
