The new Tornado Springs area will now open next year

Paultons Park has announced that it is delaying the opening of its new 1950s American-themed area until 2021.

Tornado Springs was scheduled to open on 19 May this year, but ha snow been pushed back due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The area, which will contain a spinning rollercoaster from manufacturer Mack Rides, will now open at Easter 2021.

Richard Mancey, Managing Director of Paultons Park, said: “The decision to delay the opening of Tornado Springs to 2021 has been very difficult to make, particularly as so many of our guests have been eagerly looking forward to enjoying the new rides and attractions.

“With no work taking place on site at present and with no clear idea of when the specialist contractors from several European countries will be able to recommence work, we felt that this was our only option.”

Mancey added that the Hampshire theme park would re-open this season if government guidance allowed.
