Fantasy Island to add new ride ‘Turbulence’

Turbulence, Fantasy Island

Fantasy Island will add a new spinning flat ride called Turbulence for the 2020 season.

Park owners Mellors Group have acquired a Zierer-built ‘Star Shape’ model ride and will bring it to Ingoldmells in March.

It is the former Bling ride located at Blackpool Pleasure Beach between 2004 and 2011, which has since been at Germany’s Skyline Park.

Fantasy Island director James Mellors said his group’s aim was to continually improve customer offering at the Lincolnshire amusement park.

“We endeavour to be the number one holiday destination on the east coast,” he said.

Since Mellors took over the park in 2016, Fantasy Island has hosted some of the company’s transportable rides which travel to major seasonal events such as Winter Wonderland in London’s Hyde Park.

Turbulence will officially open on 28 March in what the park describes as a grand ceremony.

It is not clear if the new ride will be available the preceding weekend of 21/22 March, when Fantasy Island begins its 2020 season.
