A coroner is writing to all UK theme parks asking them to conduct CCTV training after a girl was ruled to have died accidentally at Drayton Manor.
11-year-old Evha Jannath died on 9 May 2017, when she fell from the Splash Canyon rapids ride.
She was unsupervised on the ride when she drowned during a school trip to the Tamworth theme park.
The ride remains closed pending further advice from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
A ride operator told the inquest that “half” of it was not covered by CCTV.
The jury panel said monitoring of CCTV “did not identify any misbehaviour” and there was “no opportunity” to replay the footage.
Drayton Manor said in a statement: “We would like to express our deep, deep regret for the loss of Evha in what was a tragic accident.
“Our thoughts have remained with her family, friends and everyone affected since that day.”
