The 2019 UK theme park season begins on Saturday, with Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Adventure Island opening for the first time this year.

The Pleasure Beach is expected to operate with a full ride availability, with the exception of the vintage Ghost Train ride, which remains under maintenance.

Managing director Amanda Thompson said on Twitter that “the sun will be out” and it would be “an amazing day”.

“Please excuse the unfinished work on the Bowl-a-Drome arcade – that won’t be open, and nor the Ghost Train – but everything else is looking good. See you all tomorrow,” she wrote.

The Lancashire park, and Southend’s Adventure Island open for weekends until the Easter period.

Paultons Park also opens its gates to visitors on Sunday.

The rest of the UK’s major theme parks begin to open in March, with all scheduled to open by April ahead of Easter weekend.
