A woman was hospitalised on Sunday evening following a fairground ride accident in Nottingham city centre.
Nottinghamshire Police said that she was taken to Nottingham’s Queen’s Medical Centre with injuries that were “not thought to be life threatening”.
“Officers secured the ride and the incident, which was reported to police just before 9pm [on Sunday], has been referred to the Health and Safety Executive,” a statement read.
Eyewitness reports indicate that a carriage had become detached from the ‘Crazy Wave’, a Jump & Smile – or ‘jumping frog’ – style travelling flat ride.
