Brean Leisure Park will officially open its new enclosed rollercoaster Astro Storm next week.
The ride is the former Space Invader and later Space Invader 2, which operated at Blackpool Pleasure Beach between 1984 and 2008.
It will be similarly themed, with the ride operating in darkness and incorporating futuristic outer space effects.
The ride will have a 1.2 metre height restriction and will cost 6 x 50p ride tokens or can be accessed via the £19.99 unlimited ride wristbands.
Brean Leisure Park owner David Cadell told Burnham-On-Sea.com: Following a year of planning and building, the opening of this exciting project shows our strong commitment to being the foremost thrill ride park in the South West.
“Astro Storm is the quality of ride that you would experience at parks such as Alton Towers. We are also pleased to announce that in spite of our huge investment in this project there is no extra charge to our visitors as Astro Storm is included in our wristband.”
The ride will be previewed this weekend, before being officially opened on 25 July. It forms part of a £2 million investment programme at Brean for the 2011 season.
